yep, there are some cheesy things there, i know. But some of the 3d stuff, glints and moves are quite useable.

Easy to tone down a few of the elements to make them quite useable.

The question is, does it crash like certain other so-called "Pro" titlers do? The interface can't be worse...

I've strated using the demo version this morning. Runs very smoothly.. i guess because it utilises the MS DirectX engine.

I know the interface is unusual, ie: doesn't follow the normal MS format, but it's ok.... certainly not worse than quick titler.

I haven't figured out though how to link it to edius so I see the timeline video track in the titlers overlay window. I've tried to set the appications setting in edius to link to BluffTitler when using the edius add title feature, but only Quick titler appears in the menu.. Any idea how to achieve this?

          Thanks

It is not an EDIUS plugin so that won't work

You can only export a 32bit AVI (Canopus HQ or Canopus Lossless) out of the program and import that into Edius. As Steve said, it's not a Edius plugin.

The software seems like something I'd like to use if it could share it's interface with Edius. Are SDK's available to software developers like this to create a plug?

I think Heroglyph is the only one besides TMPro that plugs into Edius

It would be nice to have this plug in. Up til now, I had to use Lightwave to produce anything like this, but it's so **** easy with Bluff. Very impressed and alot more user friendly than working in a 3d program.

Not sure how it compares to heroglyph, but Bluff kicks *** for 3d text giving realtime shading, motion, full control of light properties, particle animation etc.

Contact the author of the app and ask if they can create a plugin...

                        Hi everyone
Just a quick word of warning Bluff title requires the latest version of Direct X version 10 and it kills the interaction with Boris and Edius causing Edius to crash when applying anything from Boris
Using system restore restores the status quo but Bluff title will not reload
                        Works excellent without Boris
                        Regards Barry

DirectX 10 is for Vista, the DirectX Blufftitler is refering to is a version of version9 dated after Jun2007, The current version is Nov2007, the confusion comes from the link Blufftitler gives you, it takes you to a DirectX 10 page, but if you follow the download links it will take you to ver. 9.21.1148 either websetup or Redistributable version

Given the offerings from quick titler are vey basic, to say the least, and the obvious problems users are having with TMPro, I believe BluffTitler is a very worthwhile consideration... one that I will definately consider if it interfaces with Edius.

Therefore, I wrote to the developers of Bluff and they wrote back within a couple of hours with this....

"Thanks for contacting us! We would love to make a plugin for Edius. I'm sure it can be done very quickly if Grass Valley could give us full technical support.

                            Sincerely,

So there you have it. I ask the powers that be at GV, will you help develop Bluff as a plug-in, please? I believe developing this as a plug in will only help Edius users.

I second this as the title options for Edius are some of the program's weakest links.

Quick titler has some potential, but the lack of paragraph formatting/editing and limited motion control makes it appear restricted to me, hence the name Quick titler.

I watched the 25 min. demo video and Bluff Titler is pretty powerful and rather intuitive in its coding.

It would be a welcomed addition as a plugin.
