  • Why Blue line above some footages?

    hi

i am working in edius pro 3. while editing the .vob files i observed that in the timeline a orange line extends till the footages are placed. what does that indicate? i also observed that, above some footages there is a blue line. What does that mean?

    Kindly let me know

    thanks in advance.

the blue line means that Edius can play your clip in realtime

the orange line means that it may play it in realtime (99.9%) but there could be a chance that playback will stop if the buffer runs out

a red line means that the clip needs to be rendered to be played in realtime

I notice that you are using Edius 4.03.

Is there a specific reason you have not updated to the latest version?

yes, I am waiting for several bug fixes that are preventing me from using 4.5 such as not being able to use DV in D1 project or vice versa and TMPro issues

I have lots of Betacam SP D1 stock footage and I must be able to incorporate it into DV projects without losing 30% resolution, a fix is being worked on and should be out in December

I have no such issues in 4.03
