I think that just refers to the New features section. Everything in the Update history section is for all versions

Probably not worth the effort to update. It seems to fix a few things and break a few others. Elite users may benefit from its new additions.

Is there ANY indication of when the next major release will be coming out? Like just even roughly? (i.e. Edius 8)

          Thanks,

LOL! You'll get over it, Anton ... the number "6" gives me a migraine, and I made it through. OH wait, I'm still on 6.x ... oh no! ;)

EDIT: Just realized it's in my screen-name too ... I'm screwed!

I have been a Edius user since the very beginning. Even Back to Canopus. Yesterday I installed the latest Edius 7 update 7.42.0020. NOW my computer no longer has Edius at all. No License nothing. I called tec support only to get Many "Sorry for that" answers and submitted an urgent ticket for a call back. No one has called back. I'm loosing days of important business.

Did you use the updater or the full installer. The full installer will remove the existing version and if you check to deactivate, it will do that as well. Is it showing up in the Windows Programs and Features section of the Control Panel? If it is missing from there, you probably used the full installer. Just re-run the full installer, check the DirectX box on install and go from there.
When you start Edius you might have to re-input your serial(probably not) and then it will automatically reactivate your license.

I reinstalled Edius 7 based on the link for their latest update. Now I can't load any new or old AVCHD files.

latest Quicktime player installed and working?

the current full download installers of EDIUS do not include Quicktime player, you need to get that yourself from www.apple.com/quicktime
also, DVD menu templates and user manual are not included, download that by logging in to your GV account

only the EDIUS installation DVD includes everything

                              DVC can probably accommodate you.
All you need is the serial from DVC and then you can download the file from GV.
