a good improvement would be to be able to quickly magnify the preview window for exact shift clicking of small detail, like is possible in Photoshop

THoff, that is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen. Superbly explained and illustrated, and most importantly for a newb like myself, why and what each feature is doing and why and when you use it.
Do you have any more I can see and learn from, if so I and I'm sure many others would be most grateful for any links.
Thanks again,
Stuart

Thanks THoff,
I've been looking for a tutorial like this one for the past year. Thanks to you, now I understand the white balance and color correction filters.
Edius has many wonderful filters, but hard to figure out. Video tutorials realy help us to understand quickly. I know that Edius has a training site, but it hardly scratches the surface. I wish more experts such as yourself would post more of these video tutorials. They realy are helpful to amateurs such as myself.
Thanks again THoff.

I just downloaded the video here at work and had no problem. Try "Save As" and then view it.

Yes, thanks Thoff - great tutorial :) I downloaded it and whilst watching it, the part that I was getting excited about (colour range) cutt off half way through.....!!

To more finely tune my White Balance results not only can I move the point in the circles (like a joystick), but the circles themselves also rotate to color-shift my adjustments.
Crazy!

There's also this:
EDIUS means more formats and more resolutions in real-time for the ability to Edit Anything, Fast. EDIUS is the 4K HDR perfect finishing tool for professional productions, including documentary and theatrical productions.
and another video I put together showing how to use both White Balance and Secondary Color Correction in Edius:
