  • Color correction messed up after applying dissolve

I'm in the middle of editing a concert and all of a sudden, when I apply a dissolve between clips, my color correction on the entire clip gets messed up. It's like I lost all contrast and I can't get it back. If I delete the transition, the problem is solved. It's not just at the transition but the whole clip.

Any idea what's going on and how to fix it?

    Thanks.

    YES
Place the clips on different tracks, when you add a transition on the same track it joins the clips, effectively adding all the effects together for both clips

All you need do is place the transition at the beginning of the upper clip (In the Key track - lower part of the video track) and overlap the clips by the amount of the transition

Sound funny but that is the way it is with Edius

Thanks Barry. It hasn't happened to me before though when having clips on the same track. I have dozens of clips from the concert with the problem.

OK, I figured it out. For some reason, the "Mix" of the key track was slowly tapering to fade out whenever I added a transition. Not sure why though this happened. Anyway, I was able to fix it in the key track.

          Hi
Could have been supple in the past, this has been quite a tricky one for new comers and has been the case for as long as I have been using Edius

I have never experienced that, I can use same track transitions and it does not do anything to the filters applied to each clip

            watch this drastic example

Sorry but that is not correct. You can use transitions on the same track with effects without issue.

My apologies, I stand corrected, it is if you have a "KEYER" filter in the keyer track the Key is transferred with an Xfade

My mistake, brain fade here, live too close to the Barossa valley, those REDS are wicked
