  • 5.1 and stereo sound at sametime

    hi
i have a timeline with 5.1 sound channel mapped.(2 for mixer sound and others are for ambiance)
i made a menu and burned it to dvd when i play it with 2 speaker i only hear the mixer sound not ambiance,
how can i burn a dvd with 5.1 and 2speaker sounds,
i mean i need a dvd that if playes with 5.1 speaker it plays all sounds individually
and if i play it with 2speaker i hear again all sounds in that speakers.

You need a true 5.1 mix that is in balance to the speaker setup.
For proper encoding you need the Edius Dolby option to create 5.1 Dolby Digital with downmix flag.
Ususally a DVD-player applies downmix by player setup these times.

I know this topic has covered before but as i searched and read all is only about making 5.1 sound not both stereo and 5.1 my problem is when i export it on dvd with edius menu and 5.1 and play it on dvdplayer i can hear all sounds.
What exactly should i do where is my mistake? and should i install something like plugin for solving this? Please tell me step by step i do really need this. Please

you say when you play the DVD, you can hear all sounds? Is that a bad thing? Did you use the EDIUS Disk Creator or other authoring software?

As I stated before, you need a proper Dolby Digital encoder to set the downmix-flag properly.
Edius Elite can do that or you just purchase the dolby option for Edius.
The other side is, I have doubts that what you call "5.1" is properly mixed.

Also the DVD player setup must be correct. If your DVD player is set to 5.1 sound
& if you have connected just two loudspeakers, the audio part for the other ones will be missed.
