  • Export to DVD question

Hi - I'm still trying to learn my way around my system. I tried to burn a DVD which would have been sucsessful if only I hadn't forgot to get rid of a short in and out point. The second time I tried nothing happend. I pressed the Export tap and also F11, but nothing. Can anyone please advice me?

    Thanks!

Try Alt-Tab, sometimes windows waiting for input can get "stuck" behind others.

If the process that handled the previous export closed its window but didn't actually terminate, then Edius will still be waiting for the process handle and refuse to start another export.

If you know which process it is (like Procoder Express for Edius or Procoder), you can kill the process yourself using Task Manager. If you don't, you can log out/log in or restart Windows to clear up the problem.

        Export to DVD

Thanks for your responses. I have tried turning the computer off completely but it still doesn't respond. On opening another project the capture process works fine, but not on the one I want to transfer. Any other ideas? Thanks again!

Are you saying that "Print To File" (F11) does nothing whatsoever, or that the Export to DVD option is grayed out?

You can't export a project to DVD if the settings are not compatible with the DVD spec, i.e. if you are working with an HD project for instance.

are you using ProCoder Express or something else?

if something else, is the project setting on a DVD compliant preset? such as 720x576 Pal or 720x480 NTSC

              Export to DVD question

Yeap I'm using ProCoder Express. The Export button does not become highlighted in blue and nothing happens when I press it. Yes I did try the F11key and that doesn't do anything iether. As I mentioned, when I open another project it works fine???

Hi - I'm not able to access my editing computer right now, so I can't give you the project setting. But it is very wierd, coz as I mentioned earlier, I was able to transfer a small portion of the project earlier today.

                  Cheers!

I am surprised that a PC reboot did not clear the problem

                    try another reboot

then open the project and mark in and out and see if export button is active
