Audio recording help needed

I'm trying to use the audio recording feature in Edius and it seems to be working fine until I click "End", and then the file it started to create in my target folder disappears and I get nothing. Any suggestions?

P.S. I'm on a Dell laptop using the internal microphone and can see the audio meter moving while recording.
