  • What does it mean?

    Hi,

    Using Edius 4,
On my audio track, in the top left corner of the clip on the timeline there is a little red block that says +99 - I'm sure it's something basic, but I don't have a clue. Some kind of level warning? Any help would be awesome.

    Thanks!

It means that the audio and video that are connected together are 99 frames out of sync.

To add to what Mike said, this happens when you unlink a clip (audio+video) then offset the audio for example, then group it back, the red box with the + or - will show up.

To add to what Dave said... If it is a - it means that the other part of the clip is farther down the timeline and vise versa :)

          thanks guys

I appreciate the info. I guess in my case it doesn't really matter, the clip its showing up on is audio I'm importing from a multi-track audio that we mixed in a separate rig. I had the stuff grouped, then did a bit of audio tweaking, ungrouped it to line it up, that's when the red block showed up.

          Thanks a bunch!

And it won't affect your output work in way, other than the creative quality of the edit.

Could you please explain how I get the audio and video back in sync? - and also how to rectify the seemingly related issue of the video (which in this case is an interviewee) which is running approx 10% slower than the normal spoken word?

lock either the video or audio track that is out of sync and then use Shift Alt to drag the clips back into sync. When they are synced the red numbers will diasppear.
