    Let me add to what David said. Not only does Edius save all your sequences, bins, etc. in the EZP file, but you can tell Edius how many backup EZP files to save and you can even tell Edius to save an extra copy on another drive. See the attached screenshot of the user settings dialog box where this is set. It is almost impossible to lose your work with Edius if it is configured correctly. As good if not better than "The Attic" from that other NLE.

    EDIUS only ever saves the whole project. Not individual bins or sequences like Avid. Its equivalent of the attic is the back up and autosave folders which are wherever you made the project. The backup folder has a backup made when ever you press save. The auto saves are made automatically at a time specified in the preferences.

    Where did you specify the project should be when you started EDIUS? Have you looked there?

    The file you say says its a project folder, what is the extension? Maybe post a screen shot so we can explain where you are going wrong. EDISU projects have a file extension of ezp and windows says they are EDIUS projects as per the attached picture.

    Thanks guys but it seems as though EDIUS is just saving the PROJECT FOLDER which is a small file Approx : 15 kb instead of saving the last edited sequence when Ctrl + S is pressed. I hate to mention this but there is another NLE that has an "attic " wherein the latest edited sequence can be retrieved just in case there is a catastrophe.

    Auto save saves the project. The project can have many sequences. If it does not open with the correct sequence you need to find it in the bin and open it.

    There should be a series of files in the following folder
    Your Hard drive>Edius>your project name>project>backup>your project name+++++.ezp

    These are read-only files.

    This applies to Edius6v5

    Problems with auto save

    Although I auto save very frequently , after a computer crash I cannot find the last saved edited project sequence. I can locate the saved project file which is about 15 kb BUT the edited sequence is what I cannot find.

    I thought that AUTO SAVE was suppose to reopen the latest edited sequence.

    Thanks.
