Subtitling from a txt file?

Don't mention it :-) Sure I do but it's a bit complicated this time around... Anyway, a little web surfing just might have provided a solution. It looks like a combination of Subtitle Edit and Handbrake just might do the work this time. Thanks a lot for all the help :-) -
Sorry for suggesting Vistitle . It was not clear that you wanted something free. Would you not want a tool that makes work easier and puts out quality when you have paying clients? You will recoup the cost within a few projects. Believe me it will save a lot of headache. Its 299 without the optional plugs.Leave a comment:

What about exporting an alpha track out of Premiere?
Andreas
EDIT: I wondering, that a good titling tool will not be covered by budget over the time...Leave a comment:

Well, as I said, I can't pay for this, it's not covered by my work budget. Any other tool that would do the job outside Edius?Leave a comment:

You can create an alpha-track by Virtualdub + subtitle plugin or Avisynth.
But it forces you to follow a steep learning curve.
I also recommend you VisTitle.

Subtitling from a txt file?
Hello everyone
I've just finished DVD authoring of a 52-minute project on Adobe's Encore DVD CS5 that also contains English subtitles. The client also requested for separate files of this project for web use but with the subs embedded on each file. Since Encore can export a txt file with all subs and timecode, is there a way I could possibly import this file inside Edius and use it somehow? Otherwise, I'd have to manually create an equal number of lower third titles and place each one separately, which, frankly I would like to avoid, since it's a ton of work. Any suggestion, even for a third party tool would help.
