DVStorm Out-of-synch Bottom Band For Analog Capture

Using the DVStorm2 Video application, I am trying to capture an analog composite (RCA jacks) signal from a VHS recorder which has no S-video connector.

Looking at the monitor in the DVStorm2 Video application, the playing video looks good in the monitor panel except for a narrow out-of-synch band along the bottom. I've tried several VHS tapes which all display the same problem. Outputing from the same VHS recorder with the same cable to a TV displays a good picture with no out-of-synch band at the bottom.

Any idea how to get rid of the out-of-synch band?

When you say out of sync are you really talking about Overscan? This is normal with analog.

I expect this is just blanked on the TV by overscan. Just go ahead with the capture and if you want you can crop or mask it out on the timeline.

If i remember this may have been the norm (slight delay)
Just ignore it and the final output could well be fine

You may be looking at the tracking point where the head switches. Most VHS VCR's have a way of adjusting tracking. I think my VCR remote uses the channel up and down buttons. Same on the unit. Try that and you'll see the tracking point move up and down. You try to move it out of the frame as much as possible. Also by moving it out of the frame ( sometimes can't remove completely), you'll also lower video noise from the video out.

My VHS has auto tracking, but sometimes I find manual tracking better.
