  • the parameter is incorrect HELP

Hello, I am trying to burn a dvd like I have always done and I receive "the parameter is incorrect" messege. Any ideas on what may be the cause? I have tried burning the dvd in dvd drive as well as in the bluray drive and it appears both times. I am burning from an usb3 external drive which as worked many times before. I am also trying to burn directly from my timeline which I like to do.

I just tried burning a sequence from a timeline I have had success with before both bluray and dvd versions...no luck. This sequence is also on my internal drive, so I think I can rule out the external usb as the problem. I am currently trying to burn the old once successful sequence onto a bluray. We will see if this works.

I did have success burning a bluray with the older sequence. Any idea why I would have trouble burning a dvd? I haven't changed any of the parameters.

Okay, I successfully burned a bluray both from the current project I was trying to initially burn a dvd from. I also was able to burn a bluray from a file from both external drive usb3 as well as one on the internal drive. I tried burning the dvd using the bluray drive but same error came up. What could be wrong?

need to see a screenshot of projects settings with advanced expanded (for some strange reason advanced often opens collapsed as if to prevent people from seeing advanced, it is beyond me why it should be hidden)

Well the project is HD, that is why you can't burn a DVD and why you get that message.

You can burn a Blu-ray or convert that project to SD and then burn a DVD.

You can do this using Anton's guide here:

your screenshot is only showing the left half of project settings

however, these settings should be fine for DVD export, what exact version of EDIUS are you using?

if 6.5 or 7, I would switch to SD and enable Lanczos3 prior to DVD export, then when done, switch back to HD

I am using edius neo 3.5 and have been successful many times with these settings for dvd and bluray. I actually chose this setup just in case a client changes their mind wanting either dvd or bluray. How would i change it to sd? I thought choosing upper filed allow for sd export?

I already have an SD preset premade in system settings, so I go to project settings and simply click the SD preset

and if you don't have a premade preset, simply change the current one from 1920x1080 to 720x480 and set Lanczos3

After reviewing my settings I did notice I needed to change it to 720x480. It has been such a long time I have burned a dvd I forgot. My mistake thanks for your help.

I have had this issue all week but the fix seems to be ticking "Create Disc and Also Export as Image File".

                          Weird.

                          I am running 6.08
