re-link missing audio

I have a bunch of clips for which the audio part got mistakenly removed. Is there a way to add that missing audio back in?

I just found a workaround ... not very elegant, but it works.

Solution: open the clip one by one, and save them to the bin. After that drag them back into the timeline, and the audio is again a part of the clip (re-trimming of audio is required.)

place playhead at start of clip
double click clip to place in player
mark in and go to outpoint with W and mark out
overwrite to timeline
done

I followed your instructions, but it is not working. It writes back only the video portions, without the audio. I do see that in the player windows only the video is highlighted, and not the audio. This must be the reason why it is not writing back the audio portion. An idea on how to mark the audio in and out in the player window?

It will work.

Double click the clip in the timeline. It loads in the Player monitor hit Q to go to the In point. Type I. Click W then O. Now with the time line cursor at the beginning of the clip on the timeline, click the Overwrite (Red button). Make sure you have the Audio mapped with your Track Patches.

this works nicely! Thank you so much. The "I" made all the difference. I was trying clicking on that little speaker icon, but that did nothing...

now playing with it I just discovered a short-cut ... no need to part the player with W at the end, retyping I trimed the audio to match the end marker. Very nice!

there is no need to go to inpoint when double clicking a clip on the timeline, because the player will automatically be at the inpoint, just click mark in and then go to out, mark out, done
