  • Stream/Track ordering in XDCAM MXF file

I am replacing the audio tracks in an XDCAM 35 MXF file, and when I export to a new XDCAM MXF file, Edius Pro 7 is reordering the streams/tracks.

On the file input I have
    Stream 0: Data (Anc Track)
    Stream 1: Video
    Stream 2-9: Audio

    On the export it creates
    Stream 0: Video
    Stream 1-8: Audio
    Stream 9: Data (Anc Track)

Is there a property to set in the project/streams to keep the original ordering, or is there a tool to reorder the tracks?

    Thank you!

As far as I know, Edius creates the clips simply according to the spec.
And no, there is not property. How could Edius determine the input order since the timeline is a neutral place where different sort of clips can be arranged.

Thank you Andreas, I was afraid I was missing something.
The stream ordering would only be on the export, where you would have full control over which tracks you were going to output.
Agree it would not make sense on the import side.

I am new to the broadcast arena, and not yet sure how sensitive stations are to the streams being reordered in the MXF files.

I can assure you that broadcast stations who are specifying XDCAM for aquisition can easliy work with the files.
Usually they ask for XDCAM HD422.
