Screen settings for 4.5?

Nobody can actually think that white letters on a dark background is a good idea. These are creative decisions to look "cool" or be "different". Even the box I'm typing in has dark letters on a white background. But suddenly when we post it all reverses so we can all feel "cool". When the children grow up they'll see what the adults are talking about.

To be honest, the reaction to the forum look and program look is about 90% positive.

So I while I completely understand that some will not like it, it was tested before it was used. So in answer to Grass Valley users listening to thier users?... We did. :)

Just tried reducing RGB all the way, and even though I like the new default screen setup - this new setting sure helps the "work" stand out, as well as the picons. One nice ancillary benefit of the grey/black/whatever screen setup - is that it gives you a pretty good idea of how your screen displays "black" - lack of color - and therefore how well the color accuracy of the video will be. If the monochrome portions of the screen have some tint (with all RGB color sliders equal values), then the picture will have the same tint, and color correction will be off when the tape of DVD is made.

At least this has been my experience when balancing the monitor color.

In an unscientific survey of my high school broadcast class, 80% like it. Seems to be more female dislike for it than male, for whatever that's worth! ;)

Fair enough, but allowing the users to set both window color and text color would solve this problem for all concerned, and just keep the current default.
