  • Markers not showing up

    Hey everyone,

So I've been editing footage for a three camera shoot with Edius's multicam mode, which is pretty spectacular. Now, for the past few days I've been adding markers to take that uses more than one camera. However, now that I've begun adding these takes to the timeline, not all of my markers show up.

Oy vey! This is a huge problem. All of my markers that I added when the clips were in the bin and not on the timeline have stayed, but all of the markers I add while the clip is on the timeline vanish, or never even appear in the first place (despite showing up in the viewer).

I have attempted removing clips from the timeline, adding the marker, then adding it to the timeline again, but still- No marker. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Using the latest build (7.32)

          Clip Color

Not at all, no. So far as I can tell there's no setting anywhere I may have accidentally toggled or anything.

              Yes... Er, no?

              Initially it does, yes.

              marker snap 3.PNG

However, it still does not show up on the timeline. Now, this is even more peculiar: As soon as I click on the timeline (or away from the marker tab), the point in the marker tab vanishes.

              marker snap 4.PNG

Even selecting the same clip doesn't bring it back. It's like the marker only exists while I have the clip in the viewer. Now, markers I assign to clips while they are still in the bin remain on the clip no problem, but removing all my footage from the timeline and putting it back undermines most of my efforts thus far.

Adding markers to clips on the timeline from their position in the bin does not add a marker to the clip on the timeline, either, even if I save, quit and restart.

The light blue clip is the exact same as the blue clip above it, except I pulled it from the bin after adding the marker- from the bin.

hello .... Van.harrison ....please excuse my "fractal" english.....
                you are new to Edius??

Edius have a lot of good features, but not all is with "normal human logic" blessed (realized)
especially if you come from old scool .....like Avid or Adobe
clipmarkers (set on timeline) is not a highlight in Edius ..but a old and often written feature-request

behind clip is (unfavorable) first on the timeline, you need (for set clipmarker) to bring it in the player windows
on the player set the clipmarker ...and behind this ...it needs
                a) to replacement the existed clip on the timeline with him
                b) to replacement the existed original clip in Bin with him

about b): to replacement the existed original clip in Bin with him
with command from player window with button > Ad Clip on Player to bin< or shortcut [shift] + [Strg] + [B]
or drag it with the mouse to the bin

or from the (marked) and replacemend clip on timeline ....with command >Add to Bin< or shortcut [shift] + [B]
or drag it with the mouse to the bin

now you have two clips with the same name in the bin-folder
                1) original clip
                2) the clip with the markers

heplful, for to know, what for you clip you need to delete... change to > Bin Detail View and activate the column "Clip marker" + sorted it by "Clipname"
look at the attachement picture ....... now you have fast a overview ...what have the same name ...with only difference ist the clipmarker.

automatic overwrite the original-clip is only available from
                Bin <---> Player <---> Bin

                .

                  Aloha, CentralEurope!

Your English is good enough to get the point across. You can also PM me in German anytime, though. I do not speak German, but my brothers all speak it fluently, and can help translate as well.

And I am very new to Edius. I hadn't ever touched it before last week.

Thank you for your help. I'll bump the thread if I still can't find my way around Edius's marker system.
