Edius 7 audio coming through as noise

Hey all,

So I'm having a peculiar issue with my audio in tracks 3 + 4 on the timeline. The polymorphic audio in these tracks plays back as just overmodulated audio; basically noise. However, not all the time. Inconsistently, the audio will play back fine. I have a work around, essentially reformatting the audio with Quicktime Pro to a .org file, but I have thousands of audio files and doing so for every one would take a lifetime. Does anyone have a solution?

To be honest I have only just looked up Polymorphic music it is a new term to me.

I found this;

1. An artist records a song using a supported Digital Audio Workstation in the usual way.
2. The artist adds additional tracks to the core song, and assigns rules to govern how they will be played. For example, a guitar solo, a flute solo, and a piano solo are all recorded, and a rule governs that only one of the three is played at a time.
3. The artist exports a Polymorphic Song from their DAW.
4. A user loads the song into a player that supports Polymorphic Music.
5. Each time the listener plays the song, different tracks are selected based on the rules the artist set.

If it is that I can't see that Edius would be compatible to it as from what I have read there it requires a special player to use the track or all the instruments might playback at once and be too loud.

Also it is meant to sound different every time you play it hence the random element.

I found this VST plugin which might work on the track if it is a VST plugin Edius understands.

Turns out Edius doesn't support Polymorphous audio at all. Thank you for the suggestion.

Could you please provide a test sample that you call "polymorphic audio"?
What format / codec ist it? What software can create it?
Is it intended to distribute it to the end user or is it an widely accepted audio format?
To be honest, I never heard about it and a short lookup at Google does not bring up much!

If you mean simply an ordinary multichannel wav file, there is no problem, Edius can deal with it.

Hi Van,

you can try to remux your audio files in a batch!
Use Video Container Changer to remux your files to MOV.
Edius can work with the files without issues.

Do not wonder if the tool reports errors after conversion.
I think it is caused by the missing video part.
The files will be ok.
