Hello, for the last 4 days I've been having issues with Edius 6 stalling and the edit windows & clip bin fade to "White." Here is what occurs: I am uploading AVCHD m2ts video files the size of 3.34 GB, 7.21 GB & 9.35 GB to the bin. I drag the clips "ONE AT A TIME" from my video download folder to the BIN. The clip is now in the BIN, can be seen and the "H" is on the clip. The % rate is shown as the time it is downloading. Then at 25% or even 56%, the rate of download completely stops!! I click on the clip and all Edius panels fade to white and the system goes into "Wait" mode white the Windows BALL sits and spins. EDIUS never comes back up to where I can enter the clips in to the bin or edit. I have had to shut down EDIUS with TASK MANAGER many times for it will not do anything productive. I can open previous projects that have more than 3 HD video clips and Edius will cooperate.
Uploading these 3 video clips has been a real headache. I do this every month for the same client and it is usually a 45 minute project to upload, edit, create menus & burn to DVD. I know it's not my hard drive for I can open the video clips from my uploaded video folder, then play them back in Windows or other playback software before they are even added to the EDIUS Bin.
I have cleared off lots of space from larger projects on all internal & external hard drives, so it is not a space issue to store the files. The drives have 75% open space on each with one drive with 1 TB of space to use.
My system is NOT connected to the internet, it is a STAND alone system so no viruses could have attacked it from the web. Could the Edius software be on a bad sector of my hard drive? Could the EDIUS external plug in that I purchased gone bad? I'm at a loss on what the problem could be. Any help or direction would be helpful!!!
Thanks,
