Personally I would process your dng clips in Resolve and export your clips fir Edius from there. If you have anything other than 7.31 the dng workflow in Edius is going to be painful. Resolve will also give you access to the full raw image data for manipulation.

Your steps work great but it is better to use the automatic sequence tool at import which takes away the pitfall of the still duration
The sequence clip beneath transfer to project folder in the open palette.Last edited by GrassValley_SL; 06-23-2014, 02:32 AM.Leave a comment:

If you want to get the most out of the RAW format, you will need to use something that will work with RAW files. Edius does not work with RAW files.
However, the DNG files can be imported into Edius and converted to an image sequence fairly easily.
1. Place all of the finished DNG files into a separate folder on your Video Drive.
2. Go to the Edius bin and make a folder called DNG. This is just for identification
2A. Make sure your Still Image Duration setting is ;01. This setting is in User Settings>Source>Duration
3. Right click in the bin area of the DNG folder and open up the folder where the DNG files are stored. Select the first image and then go to the last image and with your shift key depressed select the last image. This will select all of the files.
4. Click open
5. The files will now populate the DNG folder.
6. Once those files have all loaded, select the first image and then scroll to the last image and once again press the shift key and select the final image.
7. With all of the images highlighted right click on the bin and select set as sequence. Now drag the new single file to the timeline.
8. Put in and out points on your clip and export to HQ, HQX, or Lossless.
This could take some time, depending on the number of clips.
9. Now play your file.
That is pretty simple.
Keep in mind that the DNG files really eat up the resources. So, the faster your machine the better.Last edited by Jerry; 06-22-2014, 11:47 PM.Leave a comment:

DNG is a still photo format. So to get video you need to put all of the "still" frames together as an image sequence. As Jerry mentioned, it is good to convert this image sequence to an .avi file for easy playback in Edius.
Another popular method is to use Adobe tools like Bridge or After Effects to translate the RAW information into the DNG sequence. Have you worked with RAW using stills? It is basically the same workflow with the addition of making an .avi at the end. Edius is a video editor and is not the best place for the earlier steps in the workflow.Leave a comment:

When you create your dng sequence just import that into Edius and then you can create either an HQ, HQX, or lossless for easy playback. I'll mention that you will need the DNG codec installed on your system. Here is a link: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloa...jsp?ftpID=5495Leave a comment:

14 bit RAW from Magic Lantern workflow Edius 7
Hi,
I am looking for a workflow to process my RAW files from a 700D in Edius. I don't really understand how it's supposed to work with the dng files and how to get a "normal" clip from these in a losless format.Tags: None
