    Details

I uploaded a picture with the details of the crash.
    It has been taken on a A7N8X-X / AMD Barton 3000+ / 1 Gb RAM / 400 Gb / AGP GF6600 trying to start Edius Pro v4.51c

As I posted before, I get the same crash on 3 different AMD configs.

The same version works though on AMD X2 Dual-Core 4600+ and a Core2Duo 6600, both with Asus MB and 2 Gb of RAM.

I can only start it by starting Edius from the project file directly.

Apologies for bringing this up again....
I'm trying to get edius neo running on an xp pro amd xp2400+ machine with a geforce fx 5200 card. I get the exact same problem many here experienced: it hangs, then crashes on start-up.
Never gets past the start-up screen.
I have QT 7 and direct x 9.c and have updated neo to 1.1
Following suggestions here, I've saved then copied some "empty" projects on a flash drive, and copied them to the amd machine. Projects started by double-clicking in explorer do start- and seem to run- perfectly ok. I can import material, edit, save, save as, etc.
        So I CAN finally edit!
But if I try to change the project settings- immediately neo crashes.
This seems to have been a fairly common problem in Edius 4.51- especially for people with amd chips and/or storm cards. It must be related to project settings or setting up a new project somehow?
I'm hoping someone has found a solution- or at least a reason for this! I'm relieved to have a work-around, but I'd also love a genuine "fix"!
        Work: Edius 7.20.437 on HP Z220 workstation; Edius 6.08 on i7 running Win 7 64 bit 6 GB RAM. Neo 2.0 on a Lenovo T61. JVC GY-HD201 and GY-HD110.
Home: Canon HV20 and Panasonic GH1 (hacked); Neo 3.01 on HP elitebook 8440p i7 and Neo 1 on homemade dualcore desktop.

what are the clips on timeline? Canopus DV or other?

was the project started as OHCI SD 48k or 32k 50i or 59.97i frame rate?

            Hi Anton-
I don't get to see a timeline. It's the same problem described by others in this post: edius starts up, asks- everytime- for me to select a folder for it (this usually only happens once when you first start it after it's installed) then hangs for a moment showing project settings, and crashes.
Here's 'Zorro" from the first page:-
double click the Edius icon, program starts and I can choose my default folder. Then, I generate a new preset (no preset is saved until then). When clicking ok I wait some seconds for a preset icon to show up but it won't. 'Edius encountered a problem...' message appears and that's it. It makes no difference if I disable the Storm or not. OHCI only has the same result.

Side note: I can open old projects but when I try to change project settings Edius will also crash when trying to generate the preset icon.
            Here's another user:
The same thing happens here too, exactly as described above, on 3 different systems.
All have AMD CPU's and 1 GB Ram, nvidia cards.
I also tried on a fresh install of the OS.
DirectX was updated to the latest vers.
            Version 4.24 works, though.
One thing you can do about it is to start your project directly on the file, not by starting Edius from the desktop icon or from the Programs menu.
This is what's happening to me. Can't believe there isn't a solution!
            I'll try PMing them...
