these markers you make with the V key for markers,
for some reason on some of my clips on the timeline they are in the middle of the clip on the clip, I mean in the center part of the clip, one above the other, any idea y?these are not going there as a result of me hitting the V key. they are just there.

Most likely shot markers added during shooting. EDIUS will read them.
They can also be clip markers if you accidentally used V in the player window.

          What camera Jim?
My EX1 adds them automatically at a set interval. I can add then while shooting with a button push. Very useful.
My C100 uses Continuous Recording and can mark I/O while I shoot. INSANELY useful in Edius!

I was shooting ex1r, second cam was pmw200.
maybe I just don't notice them. main thing is they don't count as a marker, or my chapters will be screwed. each recital has 30 numbers, multiple pages.

only timeline markers count as chapters

clip markers can be removed by placing clip in player and then snapping to marker and pressing V, then drag clip to timeline

This is not an Edius marker.
Add them while you shoot and you can have snappable edit marks!
