  • set default folder

Every time I start Edius I have to set the default folder. Everything works well once I have done so but its strange that this quirk has just occurred. Two days ago I uninstalled edius and reinstalled thinking that that would help but its still the same. Any idea what is causing this?

Are you saving a project after you open it?

Is the default folder being pointed to a fixed drive or a removable/external one?

When I first ran Edius I pointed to an external drive (R:\)
Now I have an internal RAID (R:\) and (despite re-directing on each restart) Edius still asks for a default folder.

            Did you set up:
            Settings - Application - Project File - Default Folder - Browser - R:\
            Asus X99-A/USB3.1 - Samsung EVO870 1TB - Win10Pro - Edius 7.53

You know... I've looked at that at least 3 times and I'd swear it was R:\!
Maybe I should actually read when I look!
              Problem solved.

When I originally set the default folder some 2 complete unistallation and re installation of Edius ago it was set to F which was then a hard drive. Since installing new hard drives my F drive is now a DVD writer. Resetting to any other drive results in the same question every time I start edius.

I've had that happen when I use a lower letter and I use an external drive, etc. (Now I use R:\ to stay out of trouble) You can use the Windows Disk Manager to reassign disk letters to straighten things out.

I am running 4.52. I will experiment with the drive manager.
