the above problem is a different one

say the cursor is parked near the start of a transition and you press the spacebar to play, the cursor often instantly jumps to the transition center as if there is a magnet

this is especially often the case when zoomed in to 5 frames or 2 frames

I don't see this behavior here in Edius 4.03 but it was happening in 4.51c

yes, what he is seeing is the cursor jumping, being magnetically attracted to the yellow green brackets, I seen that many times especially when zoomed in

it does not affect playback video, so don't worry

    Hi,
I am assuming that the jump you refer to is in the actual playback picture and not just the timeline cursor jumping as this is usual.
I find these yellow and green boxes a nuisance as once showing I cannot adjust just one end of adjoining clips without clicking elsewhere to remove the boxes as both clip ends move together, it would be nice to be able to switch those boxes off.
However, these coloured boxes are an editing feature and shouldn't cause any jumps to the transition playback. Have you ensured that there is enough video between the end of first clip and beginning of second clip if you have the Extend clips when applying transition feature ticked. Allow at least half of the transition length or more on each clip ie for a 1 sec clip the first clip should have at least 13 - 15 frames before it ends and the secong clip should have the same from its start. If not using the extend feature then ensure your overlapping clips are 'clean' to the end and at the beginning.

It sounds like your system is choking a bit. Does it meet the min requirements for edius? Do you have anti virus software running in the background ?
First try closing the audio mixer window as that requires a lot of buffer memory to display and see if that helps. As far as the green/red/yellow boxes are concerned I'm stumped on that one, could they be the brackets ][ between clips when you move your mouse over to trim? Can you include a jpeg of what you're seeing?

    Eduis 4 Trasition Jump

I have just recently upgrded to Edius 4, - and almost everytime I create a transition, anykind, I get a little green/red/yellow box in the middle of the transition, and when the storyboard is playing back at that location, I get a JUMP on that scene... I've tried many thinkgs, but I keep on getting that annoying JUMP.. does any one have any ideas.. On Edius 3, I would never get these little yellow/red/green boxes in the middle of the transition, no matter what length it is..

    pls help me.
and if possible, pls reply to my email at [email protected]

    any ideas will be appreciated.
