ok I think I figured it out, when I did this particular wedding I just opened the "stream" folder all the others I opened the "private" folder Edius must need the whole file structure intact. thats all I can guess. -
What was the other camera. A Sony ? I always use the Sony transfer software. It works with no issues just as fast as any other transfer means and one knows there will be no problems in video or audio sync when files are joined, renames the files by date and time etc. Also one can tell it exactly where to store the files and then its easy just to bring into the bin. I never use Edius or Vegas to do this transfer. I like to keep the steps separate. Transfer to PC and backup so that I know files are safe. Then edit. No different to using tape just faster.

See I NEVER had this problem before if I use the AVCHD converter or not I would end up with for example 4 clips 3 would be the individual clips and the 4th would be all three joined as one. the weird part is my 2nd camera in that weddin (Panasonic AG-HMC 150) worked as usual. Is there something different in Edius 7? a setting I need to check?Leave a comment:

continuous AVCHD shoth over a longer time as the 4GB (2GB) limit from AVCHD ??
if yes, this is usual per import the clips over bin (AVCHd can not write longer files as 4GB or in the past 2GB)
continuous AVCHD shoth needs import over a tool from the cam-copmpany like Sony PMB
or import from the card over the "Souce-Browser"
here is a "pana" thread (including Barry Green statements on post #32) about this

here is a "pana" guide for Edius import http://pro-av.panasonic.net/en/sales...ide_gve6_e.pdf

Clip seperation
I went to edit a job in Edius 7 and for some reason Edius didnt merge the files in a long ceremony life it normally does and further more there was a audio dropout at the end of each one so I had to cover it up. Never happend before any thoughts? BTW The cover shot done with a different camera worked fine.Tags: None
