Is there a version of Edius that will run on a server, and allow multiple logins? We want to centralize our editing, and use basically dumb terminals for editing.

The use of the GPU and Direct3D overlay prohibits VNC/RDP type usage.
The best I can think of would be a multi-machine blade type server unit, taking each blade's output to a remote mouse/keyboard/monitor via fiber KVM or the like. IP KVM might work, but I'm not sure if it will handle the on-screen playback sufficiently.
If your editing bays are using dedicated video monitors for video preview/playback, then it might work.
But on the practical side, the blade+KVM solution would likely cost more than getting a high-power workstation for each bay.

I've seen similar workflows using DVI extenders plus SDI for the video monitors, this way the computers could be locked in the server room. (security, temperature, direct connections to central storage controllers, etc)
Or, alternatively by using an XRE Render farm, the editing machines only need to be powerful enough for the basic editing, all the rest happens in the server room, on a proper server computer.Dell T1650, 8GB ram, SSD, Win 7, Edius 6.08+HDSpark, Vistitle

You can do this with any Edius system, if that is what you are wanting to do. Just as BH is saying.

You can't do this with Edius as SL is saying. Come to think of it, I do not know of any NLE that would work like this in a true server and dumb terminal setup. Or at least work to full capacity with multiple logins on different projects. I know Avid do something, but it is not this. For the kind of money in this type of setup, it would be easier and cheaper to run multiple workstations, or even blades as BH suggests, like what you would have in a typical machine room in a big post facility. Then just access them over a patched network for IO and monitor, again as BH suggests. Sharing data from a central storage system is way easier.

If you don't know the difference between Azimuth and Asimov, then either your tapes sound bad and your Robot is very dangerous. Kill all humans...... Or your tape deck won't harm a human, and your Robot's tracking and stereo imagining is spot on.
Is your Robot three laws safe?
