  • DVCapture Scene Detect

Is there a way to get DVCapture to do scene detection? I like the idea of capturing while i'm editing with EDIUS to improve workflow but scene detection is essential.

yes it works well when capturing with Edius and having only the bottom divide option in Deck Settings menu ticked

I am not familiar with the DVCapture software

There is an option for scene detect in DVCapture - select the icon that looks like the 6 dots on a dice and it will show a red dot to show it is activated.

Sometimes DVCapture misses a scene detect so don't rely on it completely to detect button on/off e.g during dancing sequences at a wedding reception when you might prefer to add a transition between clips.

On the whole thought DVCapture works well - I haven't tried capturing more than one source at a time though.
