The one I liked best, was Mirage and Combustion

I have Combustion as well, and I like the interface of Combustion.
AE has more users but most of AE plugins are compatible with C as well.

Who uses AE? Well most of the industry.

You see AE used everyday in national commercials, news programming and others.

Combustion has much less of a user base than AE.

Yes I Think I have to buy it, But I really like the rotscoping feature in mirage, its ease of use..

The main use of a compositing tool is special effects..
Keying, rotoscoping, particle effects and so on the list goes on, you can also do animation, 3D, 2D, and text effects, relighting a scene...If I have missed something, sorry :)

I think you have tried then all, unless you go higher eg. flame, inferno etc.

I sitting here and thinking about a compositing tool, the ones I tried so far is:
After effects ,Boris ,Mirage ,Fusion, Combustion is there more tools out there to try before I make a decision, I am on an xp machine
