Final cut pro res file to mpeg

I have a pro res file from final cut on my edius timeline can I make a mpeg for authoring from this file or should I make a Canopus H file first? The mpeg will be for blu ray

Just export as you would normally. If you need an HQ make one. If not, go directly to mpeg 2 HD.
