AVCHD pans look jerky

I am editing a holiday movie recorded on my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ25.

I am using Edius 6.08 and Windows 7 x64 Pro.

The files are 1920 x 1080 50i PAL AVCHD (.MTS).

When I play the timeline some shots that use pans look slightly jerky. The same file played directly from the camera SDHC card using Windows Media Player looks smooth. Am I doing something wrong?

The project settings are below. Should I change any of these settings?

I want to eventually put the finished movie on to a Blu-ray disc using Edius.

Are you viewing the playback on a computer monitor or on an external montor by way of a GV or Blackmagic card?
If you are viewing on the computer screen, I would say that is the issue.

I am viewing on the PC monitor, but it only looks jerky on the timeline. As I mentioned, playing the clip in WM Player looks smoother.

You can't compare the two. I would say that it is alright.
This is why most of us recommend an output card. Using Edius 7 you can get a Blackmagic Intensity pro for
under $200. You get capture and output.
