  • Monitoring Voiceover Audio

Does anyone know how to listen to audio being recorded using the Voice Over tool in Edius 4.52? I can see the audio level, but I'm not able to actually hear the audio anywhere.

Are you wanting to wear haedphones to monitor the sound?

Yes. That way I won't have to worry about feedback.

I'm wondering - does your sound device support full duplex audio?

          I don't know, but I can check.

Is it that Edius 4.52 software purposely cuts the audio output during a voiceover? Back in Storm I used to be able to monitor while recording audio. Maybe I should just reload my Storm software to record audio?

I have tried using Adobe Audition but I can't seem to figure out how to configure it for one channel of voice over. There are too many things going on in that program! Does anyone have a simple Audition setup idea how to create a good audio file that can be easily imported into Edius?

I'm not sure if EDIUS mutes the audio output, but some sound hardware mutes the output audio when recording to prevent feedback.

Usually setting the speaker configuration to "Headphones" instead of "Speakers" will put the hardware back into full duplex mode.
