Digital Still photo to fit into 16x9 timeline

I have Photoshop and Imaginate 2 and Edius 4.5 trying to fit digital still photo on to the timeline what size and is it the same resolution at 72 I have been trying 1025 x576 : 900 x 576 no luck can someone please help I had no trouble in 4 x 3 but changing to 16 x 9 cant do .. not HD jpav

16:9 standard definition Pal?

if so, 1024x576 using 1:1 square pixel aspect in Photoshop

if HD, then 1920x1080 using 1:1 square pixel aspect in Photoshop

Or the OP can use a photoshop preset to create a 16:9 Pal still.

If you want to create them in correct PAL pixel aspect ration with pre CS versions of Photoshop, start with a 1024x576 image, do your design then resize (without maintaining ratio) to 720x576. It'll look weird, but it's right.

hmm, I use Edius 4.03 and there is no need to resize 1024x576 1:1, it fits perfect

maybe that is a different story with 4.5?
