Make sure your setting is 59.94p and not 60p. If the audio is crackling, take a small section that has the audio crackling use the c key to cut a section and then make in and out points. Now, do a shift + G on this section. Also, export this section to an HQ file.
Play these back. If the audio plays fine, then either you have something on in the mixer, or your system has a hard time playing 59.94 material.
From your signature, the processor is an entry level i7 chip that came out in the era of HDV(1440x1080i mpeg2 29.97). You are wanting to process 1920x1080
59.94p mp4. It is all about the processor on this one.
If converting to HQ solves the problem, this might be your solution. Download the AVCHD2HQ app from the GV download area. This will allow you to drop the actual file onto the
program droplet and it will go from there.

Hi Jerry, thanks. I read this article before but thought I still had to make some changes to my settings because of the enormous render time, i.e. a scene of 40 seconds tkae more than 2 minutes to render and normally such a scene takes 15 seconds. Do you think the problem with the sound is also caused by the high fps?
But I wil read the artical again very carefully and hope to find some tips there. Thanks !Leave a comment:

This page might help you understand the resolutions and frame rates.

60p will take longer than a 30p project because you are having to render twice the frames.Leave a comment:

project settings for Gopro HD3 footage 59.97 fps
Hi, For some time I have problems with the best settings for my gopro HD3 footage shot at 1920x1080P at 59fps. Once on the timeline it takes much more time to render than normal and the sound has cracks. When I use another projectsetting with 29.97 fps there is no problem. Does anyone has the best settings for this gopro footage? I also don't know for sure if gopro is progressive of interlaced and whether the problem is due to this. (sorry for my english)
Hopefully someone can give me some good advice.
