  • Updating Edius

    Hi,

I have asked this before, so hopefully I will not bore anyone by asking it again. I currently am using Edius 4.24 without problems. I want to update this to 4.52. When I run the Setup program, I am informed that "EDIUS was not found" and that is the end of the installation.

The dongle is installed, Edius is registered and v4.24 is working fine, (it was installed as a "clean install" as I had the same problem when I went to version 4.24). What is the Setup program looking for that it ceases the installation?

I really do not want to have to uninstall Edius 4.24 then have to re-install 4.24 again, re-install TMPro and the plug-ins etc. just to do an update.

The download was unzipped to C:\DLFiles as suggested in the download section and the original installation all went as suggested, no folder or name changes.

An answer to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Just a pot shot- did you install the previous version to the default location? I dont know if not doing that would make a difference anyway.

There have been occasions where if you install any version of EDIUS and then try to update it 30 or more days later, it won't install, regardless of the dongle being plugged into the system.

To this day, I'm not sure of what other remedy exists outside of reinstalling from scratch..

Yes it was installed in the default location. I guess I have no other option but to un-install and re-install. Thanks for the suggestions and consideration of that problem.
