WMP Playback of Canopus HQ Avi files Error

I have the same issue.

WMP 11 can not play .avi files I have captured in Canopus' codec.

I have the download codecs automatically set on my WMP.

in WMP, go to tools, options, general and make sure that download codecs automatically is ticked

also go to the file types tab and make sure nothing important has become unticked

Yes, I am playing the avi file in the same PC that I capture. It used to work before, then sudenly I started to get that error.

is the media player on the same PC? works fine here but I use WMP11

Hi,
I tried to play a Canopus HQ avi file that i captured with edius 4 with windows media player 9, I get and error that read :

"Windows media player has encountered a problem and need to close."

I also use bsplayer to view avi files and get a similar error. I use GSpot to see if my system was missing a codec and found that the audio part of the avi file would not render and crash Gspot. the audio is 0xfffe (Extensible wave format)(48000Hz 2304 kb/s tot (2 chnls))

Anyone had this problem??
