  • Copy Multicam Edit to New Sequence

Hi sorry if this question has been answered before but I have not been able to find a solution. I have a four camera mulitcam edited sequence and I need to copy section for inclusion into an other timeline while still retaining the original camera cuts. Simple copy and paste will copy the items but the camera cuts are inactive, is there a solution or do I have to re-cut the sequence.

    TIA

I do this with cut and paste. Highlight the section that you want to copy, right click and copy , go to the other sequence and paste. I do this so that I can take pieces from one performance and include in the other. The new sequence will of course have to be in the same project. Doing this now for a dance show, 4 track AVCHD. Have 8 tracks active in the receiving sequence and just paste over the same section from the second evening. All the blue triangle controls appear and can be moved/changed for either evening show.

Thanks for that Ron I just tried it in a new sequence and it worked. I have to work out why the switching is not working in the squence that I need the vision in.

You may want to try saving that project with a new name and try again.

Let me try my best to tell you how I do mine with NO issues....First, I set up my multicam,(sequence 1) edit, then, set my in (Altl + I) and out (Altl + O) points compress to single track, copy the compressed track plus the audio tracks, and paste them in the new sequence...to continue editing, I just go back to sequence 1, continue editing, repeat the process, until I am finish editing....I then use sequence 2 to add any effects and transitions, and sweeten my audio....colour corrections are done in sequence 1, the multicam sequence, to colour balance, so that I will not have to be bogged down with that in sequence 2..I do my clean ups there. If I need to add any clips, I go back to sequence 1 and copy and replace or add to another track in sequence 2.

          works 4 me

Don't forget the Duplicate Sequence option available in the Bin. Very useful for versioning etc.

            Best
