Any idea what might cause the EDL exporter to hang with the following message:

connection processing
The process starts OK and a progress bar quickly completes before hanging on this message each time.
This is the first time I have tried to export a proper EDL. I am trying to export in CMX3600 but it also hung on BVE9100 as well, I haven't tried all the options. I can't cancel it, it requires me to kill the Edius task to get out of the program.
How long should the process take? I have left it running for about 30 mins before killing it.
No EDL file gets written.
I have now tried this on several different projects and get the same result.
