Source browser DVD input

I have a DVD that I created. 14 min. I am able to import it using source browser.... Well it goes through the motions.... But the file that ends up in my bin has black and white checkers. I have "reconstruct files" checked in the system settings. I must be missing something. Any ideas?

I tried capturing an audio file from a cd. It shows all the files on the cd. I click "add and transfer to bin " ... .it does its thing.... When it's 100 percent, the audio clip goes in time line, but doesn't play. Diagonal lines thru it. Aargh. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong
