  • 1080i with 720p

I want to use 1080i footage together with my JVC HD110's 720/30p footage. Which software can I use to deinterlace the 1080i footage? I saw an article about this somewhere else, they recommend Cineform. Well I don't have it and I use Edius. Those guys use Premiere.
90% of my footage is 720/30p only the rest is 1080i
    Anybody?

Edius' Old Movie filter has different de-interlacers to try out just disable all other effects. Or you can batch process a bunch of files at once with ProCoder 2 or 3 and use the Adaptive De-interlacer filter.

I've been doing some test with HDV 1080i M2T files converted to 720p and 480p with PC3. I found that using "Adaptive De-interlace" would give poor results even when using other "Detection" methods.

I get excellent results converting HDV 1080i to HQ 720p when I configure PC3 Canopus HQ Encoder's interlacing to "Non-Interlaced".

Edius 4.51c also does of excellent job of RT de-interlacing (and Inverse Telecine) with progressive timelines. You loose some RT if Edius has to RT scale, for example 480i or 1080i footage on a 720p timeline. So to maximize RT convert all footage to the same frame size as your timeline.
