  • Exporting MXF files

I have a canon XF100 and want to know what are the best settings to export from Edius. Would I just export it as avi format ?

Your files start as a .MXF file from the camera but once they are imported into Edius you can think of them as uncompressed or just information for Edius. What file format you choose to export is unrealted to .MXF You would choose .AVI or mpeg or Windows Media etc... as per what you are outputting to.

Thanks for that. I was just a little confused in my thinking that exporting mxf files would result in loss of quality if they were not exported from Edius in a specific format.
