  • How do I eliminate unwanted audio track?

I am brand new to Edius. I shoot on differrent tracks of audio and I want to edit, at times, just the right track and eliminate all sounds on the left track. Other times I want to do the opposite. I am getting confused on the panning system. Is there an easier way without having to go into the panning system? Is there a way to just eliminate the right or left track of the clip by seperatiing the audio clip and eliminating the one I do not want?

    Thanks in advance.

Before draging your clip to timeline, click on the little a in the header of the A1 audio track and choose left mono and do the same for A2 and choose right mono, then drag your clip up to timeline, Video will go to video track, audio will go to A1 and A2, unsync the clip then you can delete whatever audio track that you are not using.

Also, if the video is alreay on the timeline you can Right click on the Video, select ungroup and delete the unwanted Audio that way also. :)

          Hal,

How the heck are you? I have a filter that I made with a grahic equalizer and pan/pot balance on it. I made one where the right channel is duplicated over both left nd right and I have a filter where the left is duplicated over both. Call me if you want more info. Welcome to the land of 4.51.
          Thanks,
          Ara

            Left or right audio

If the audio is on the timeline already, right click and choose properties/audio info/right or left monaural audio. This works for me.

be sure pan mode is set to Edius3 compatible otherwise you will lose plenty of volume
