Blu Ray logo video clip

The few DVDs that I have burned for retail (not replicated) I use a logo made available from here http://www.artofdvd.com/dvdlogos.html

My understanding is that those producing discs for clients, such as video editors or event videographers, should not use trademarked logos, either in the video, or on the surface of printed discs or packaging.

You may use a generic text form, such as, "Blu-ray Disc TM" or "DVD-Video TM", but not the logo design.

I believe this the best way to protect myself from any legal problems. Losing my house is not worth printing a silly logo on a disc. Would that happen? Probably not, but who wants to risk it.

Same for using the DVD logo. When you pay your disc manufacturer make sure the license fee is included.

You have to pay a license fee to have the right to use the logo. Actually, when you have a BD house replicate discs, you have to pay 2 license fees to make it a 'legal' disc.

Generally, there is a stampler fee for creating the initial master. These deteriorate over time and if you do a reorder after the experation date, you will have to pay this fee again.

If this disc is for your personal use, meaning non-commercial fee charged useage, I seriously doubt the copyright police are going to come haul you away. Just don't put it on discs
that you are selling. You never know who might see it.

Wonder to what extent the Blu-Ray logo would associate to the media rather than to the content?

I would still be careful about using it.

Blu-ray is a trademark, like Dolby and you can't just go sticking it on labels and videos which are for commercial use without permission.
