Export a Video With a Transparent Background??

What version are you using? If you are in Edius 4.x-6.x you will have to use an alpha matte. The type of background will control the quality of the alpha matte.
As Pat said, 6.5x exports alpha.

Your other option is to rotoscope it in AE, if you have that.

You can export alpha channels in the latest version.

The Edius 4 advice did not give any advice it just said it could be done. Honestly this is for a friend of mine I never do any keying. Are there step by step instructions somewhere???

If the EDIUS 4 advice was to do two exports - one with Show Key to use as a matte, and the other normal, that will still work.

You can also take those two and apply the matte in the bin to create a clip with alpha.

I have a speaker, they want to remove the background and then put the speaker video in powerpoint, can I export a trasparent background video in Edius??? I did a search and it was about Edius 4, thanks for the help.
