  • Edius has a mind of it's own!

I have been editing just fine then....
As I move the mouse about the timeline moves clips randomly move about.
When I try to apply an effect, I drag it across to the timeline and bits of the media on the timeline move as the mouse goes across the screen.
I cannot apply effects to the media, it just refuses to apply.

    Whats Happening, any ideas?
    Thanks

I've seen that sort of behavior with some other Windows applications (But not the E6.x I am using). I suspect it is a "undocumented" Windows behavior, possibly related to the mouse in use.

Can you try a different mouse?

Graphics Card drivers? or windows update??

probably not, but you never know... if nothing else works out, a system restore to the day before this started might kill the bug..a bit desperate!

I have made no updates or software changes.
I may try a rollback or old saved project.
Could it be a mouse or keyboard problem?

Okay a bit of a update!
It seems that if I want to drag someting to the timeline I have to click on it, hold for a few seconds then slowly drag the clip or effect over moving very slowly.
I used to be able to drag Colour Matte's now I cant?

Mark, a stab in the dark here.

I've seen similar wierd behaviours in software that turned out to be either a stuck right mouse key, or a stuck key on a keyboard. A reboot or something mechanical unsticks the offending key (or a state it has caused in the computer), and then the next time you hit that key, or combination of keys, it comes back.

I'd try temporarily replacing the keyboard as well as the mouse.

Plasma could be right...had that issue a few times, almost drove me crazy......one of my keyboard keys was stuck, and ever so often would stick and then release by itself, so I was unable to track it, until it kept stuck long enough for me to notice.....change of keyboard solved it......on my internet PC, it also happened, and another time, my mouse was getting ready to die, ..a change and it went away....If that does not solve you issue, you may have a drive that is too loaded, or running a bit slow, or heavily fragmented, or you system drive needs to get cleaned up from junk files that usually is in the 'TEMP' folder....

I think I will try another keyboard see if anything changes
If nothing try a new mouse
