    1DC's 4K in Edius

    Hi
I downloaded a short 4K clip from the 1DC in 4K. I can import the clip in Edius 6.52 but when I view the clip it only an image in the left top corner (the image is compress in to a fourth of the screen). I’m I doing something wrong here?

I also tried to open the clip in a 4K project in Edius, but the same problem (image compressed to left top corner).

I did also import the clip in Resolve and everything looks like its works good in there. I don’t know resolve that good, so I can’t find a way to export a 4K image to import in Edius.

Anyone got the same problem or got a solution?

    Cheers

This was in a 4096x2160 23.98 project setting:

It is a 1 DC file that I downloaded from the internet.

        Hi again
I downloaded some more files and the same problem came up!
anyone else that got the same problem, I downloaded clips from Philip Bloom.
I have downloaded 4 clips in total.

Clip 1,3 and 4 looked like attached files
Clip 2 looked like it should

Can you give us the links to these clips?

Also can you select the clip and press alt+enter and make a screen shot?

Are these clips the original file and format that the Camera uses to record?

I guess so... I don't think that PB have done anything with this files, just put them up for download. If I import them in Resolve they look ok, so I guess that it is something that EDIUS read "wrong". The funny thing is that the second clip I downloaded work's fine.
I se if I can find the link to that one...

                Edit:
                This file worked fine

This is thanks to Andreas Grimm.

                    1. Open up your Quicktime
                    2. Import your 1DC clip
                    3. Go to View>Normal Size
                    4. Now Save
                    5. Exit
                    6. Import the clip into Edius

                    It should be fine now.

To get smooth playback in both 4k and 1920x1080, I would convert to HQX. Unlike the Red playback resolution adjustment, this flavor doesn't have one.

The weird thing is that some native clips opens perfect and behave normal (100% in 4K and ~50% in 1080). And then the next clip behave like this. I think it is something that EDIUS reads wrong, because the clip looks fine in Resolve lite.

Did you apply the above steps to all of your MOV clips?
The workflow is just a compensation to overcome the misleading kind of interpretation.
I think that QT parameters for viewing shouldn't have any effect for video processing.

No, I did not, I don't own QT Pro so I can't save. that workflow is probably good for a few clips, but if you got 100 clip (or more) that will take some time... I don't se why EDIUS shouldn't open them direct?

                              I understand your point.
But actually it is the only way to make it work so it helps until GV will (hopefully) change this.
I have the same issue with ProRes files if a user has saved a viewing resolution, different from original resolution.
