Editing Sony files

I have been trying for one week now to get an answer from the support desk to my problem but no luck not even a phone call.
I usually edit XDcam files but have now to also work with Sony M2TS files and find that my system will not play them smoothly. What to do without the time spent rendering please

Please describe your system. Processor, processor speed , RAM, drives, which version of Edius, etc.
