  • Burn to Disc - The parameter is incorrect

I'm running 6.07 on Windows 7, and have run into a problem with my current projects. Every time I try to burn a DVD, it makes the temp file, but as soon as it gets to to "Output Title 1 Menu", I get an error message that says "The parameter is incorrect" and the burn stops. This is the same wether I'm trying to burn to a DVD or just to write an image to hard drive.

    What happened?

this is a bug in 6.07 if PCM Wave is chosen as audio encoding format

    this is fixed in 6.08

What's weird, is that my project was set for Dolby Digital. Do I have to the file on the timeline something other than a WAV file?

It also failed on my other system which is running 6.02.

my timeline files are always wav

but when I use disk burner, I set to dolby digital in the disk burner settings

the disk burner is a strange animal, it works on some systems and fails on others

also, be sure the workfolder is on a drive that is NTFS formatted and is not a networked drive

I discovered the problem. It rendered fine on the internal hard drive of hy laptop, but not on the USB3 mounted external drive. I was using the same drive in both cases. Interesting neither had a problem opening the project from the external drive, only when writing the DVD.

yes, the Disk Burner hates external or networked drives

I was getting the parameter error on one project over and over no matter what the settings.

I moved the whole project a couples of seconds on the timeline and everything worked fine thereafter. It's difficult to read Edius's mind sometimes.

So what is the answer here - I get this all the time on any project on my USB3 drives where the projects and files live. I have to always end up writing the DVD image to the internal drive, and then copying it back to the USB3 drive. I'm on 6.51 at the moment (only as I have lots of izotope filters in use)

The key is using internal drives. It is just that simple. Personally, If I use an external USB 2.0-3.0 it is purely for storage and not having to do with anything operational.
If you have had success using the internal drive, then do it that way.

Yeah - its just a pain as on some occasions it does work on the USB3 drive, but i wish i knew what parameter was the incorrect one!!! I've started to burn it internally, and then copy it back, but it does slow down the workflow.
I always have to use external drives as I often have about 10 projects on the go and each project is about 1TB-2TB in size so just interchange the drives as i need them.

I use this but with the black front:

                      http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...FQuCnQoduWEAzQ

You plug the 4 connectors into your motherboard's sata connectors(or raid/host card) and that is all you have to do. When 1 project is done, just pull the drive out and put in a new one. They make a 3 slot model as well.

I have never figured out why using an external USB connector is more convenient than this. It is SATA 3 compatible and you don't need a caddie.

All it is is a box with a back plane. You can raid it with Win 7 or hook
it to a raid controller and make the raid with hardware.
