I emailed Sony, no answer yet. It is not mentioned on the firmware update list. But, the screwy thing is, it is listed in the product features on the bluray model page. Then when you download the manual, it clearly states that it does not. Well, I just found the PDF file for region 2 that showed the firmware update. All of the BD-r/e modes are disabled.
