  • Color matte & tone

I installed an update for Edius a while back and now when I add a color matte to the timeline it also adds several audio layers of tone. I do not want the audio layers and have now grown tired of ungrouping and deleting them. Where do I tick or untick to disable these from being added with a color matte?

    Thanks,
    Bill

there is no need to ungroup to kill the audio

simply click the "delete audio of selected clip" tool on timeline toolbar (after you add this tool, also add "delete video of selected clip" tool)

or, right click bin and add the color matte, now disable the A on top left of timeline, drag color matte from bin to timeline

I have the A disabled permanently, because you can still add clips with audio even if disabled, it all in the way where you place mousepointer at the end of dragging

also, the colormatte usually only has a stereo channel, unless your project setting is not 2 channel stereo

        Thanks guys, much appreciated.
I may have given the impression that the ungrouping was the biggest headache and it isn't, but regardless if ungrouping is neccessary or not, my preference would be that I could just add the matte without the audio and not have to go through the bin first or kill the audio later. Those are both extra steps I didn't use to have to do. Is this some new "improvement" where you have no choice but to have the audio attached to the matte? Surely there is an option to add a matte without audio, right?

Try Antons suggested settings by permanently diasabeling the A patch on the time line and all is well :)
Been using this since v6 came out and never looked back.
I must mention that I use 1VA track en several V and A tracks.
