One nice thing about Blu-Ray is that rewriteable media is readily available, so you can experiment without making tons of expensive coasters.

then take it to BB or CC to see if it will play in a BDP-S1, I know that will play them.

Here is a link with the latest firmware for that unit.

I did not see anything on BDMV support listed. But, the sony site has the bdp-300 playing bdmv discs in the product lineup.

The BDP-S1 will play it. The two new ones being released on October 31st, are supposed to be able to play them as well. I'm sure there will be a firmware update soon for the 300.
You can check the roxio DVDITHDPRO forum for the latest on players that will play BDMV discs.

By the way, I tested Adobe Encore CS3 yesterday and was able to author a Blu-ray disc with that working directly from an Edius HQ AVI file. That had to be transcoded, but it was accepted by Encore for the project.

A template has been provided in the ProCoder forum- why it has not found it's way into a ProCoder/EDIUS update yet - I do not know <sigh>
You can go up to 40mbps for Blu-ray Movie Discs.

Dude, this has been covered a few times lately - try a search. In the mean time, blue Ray (don't quote me) supports 1920x1080 Mpeg 2, 1440x1080 Mpeg 2 up to 25mbps - to be safe???
Not 100% so do some searchin :)

File format for Blu-ray?
I've been saving my HDV files from Edius timeline as "canopus HQ avi's", I'll be using Roxio's HD pro software, does anyone know what file format to use to export for Blu-ray thru Roxio. GaryTags: None
